Home Digital Passport
Everything about your home, on one secure USB key.
The Home Digital Passport is a secure USB key that holds the full record of your home: how it was built, who built it, how every system is set up, and who to call when something needs attention.
It works like a passport for the house. When the home is sold, the passport passes to the new owner, so the knowledge stays with the property instead of being lost in old emails, folders and phone contacts.
Two ways to get your Home Digital Passport
1. Included with your Innovative Automation project. When we complete your installation, we hand over your passport with everything already filled in: every system we installed, its accounts and logins, the network settings, photos of the work, and who to call for help.
2. On its own, for any home. Buy the passport and set it up yourself, or give it to your builder or installer to fill in during the build. A simple step-by-step setup wizard guides you through each section, and you can add and update information at any time.
What’s inside
Every system in your home, fully documented
Modem and Wi-Fi, CCTV, alarm, KNX and home automation, air conditioning, intercom, audio, solar, battery, lighting, blinds, gate and garage, irrigation, EV charger, pool and spa, hot water, and network.
For each system: brand, model, serial number, where it’s installed, installation date, warranty, and who installed it.
The accounts created for each system: admin logins, Wi-Fi passwords, app accounts and the apps you need, all kept encrypted.
Every device on the home network with its IP address, MAC address and IP reservations, so a new modem can be set up exactly like the old one and everything keeps working.
The builders and trades who built your home
The builder, architect, electrician, automation installer and other trades, with their contact details.
Building permit, construction start and completion dates, occupancy permit, and builder warranty dates.
Who to call, and what to do first
A contact list for each system: installer, service company, monitoring company and manufacturer.
Simple step-by-step troubleshooting for each system, such as what to check when the internet drops, a camera goes offline or the alarm reports a fault.
A built-in network check that confirms your computer is on the home network and that each system answers. It also flags a device that has been replaced.
Photos and videos for future maintenance
Photos and videos of the construction stage: walls, cabling and pipework before the plaster went on, which is invaluable for future renovations and repairs.
Photos of switchboards, equipment, racks and labels, plus the finished home, sorted into albums and folders.
Utilities and emergency information
Electricity, gas and water meter numbers, NMI and MIRN, retailers, and NBN location ID.
Where the main switchboard and the water and gas shut-offs are, which you need in an emergency.
Documents, maintenance and history
Warranties, manuals, certificates, plans and invoices, stored with the home.
A home to-do list with maintenance, service, warranty and renewal reminders, including repeating ones.
Ownership history: every owner of the home, with dates.
A history log recording each change, handover and update.
Built for builders, installers and owners
Builders and developers can set the passport up during construction and record the trades, dates, permits and photos.
Installers can add their systems, logins and network devices, and take photos of the work in progress.
At completion the passport is handed over to the owner. The owner creates their own login and receives a personal recovery code. All builder and installer access is removed, so from that moment only the owner can open it.
A step-by-step setup guide then helps the owner take over every system in their name: change passwords, install the apps, and remove previous users.
When you sell your home
The passport goes with the house. You approve the transfer with your password, the new owner creates their own login, and they are guided through setting everything up again. You are recorded as a previous owner, and your access is removed.
Secure and private
Runs only from its own licensed USB key; the key can’t be copied to another stick.
All information, photos and documents are encrypted (AES-256) and protected by your password.
A recovery code for a forgotten password, kept with your property documents.
Optional automatic backup to your computer. If the key is lost or damaged, the passport can be restored onto a new key, and the old one stops working.
Works without internet; nothing is stored in the cloud. An internet connection is used only to check for software updates.
Compatibility
Windows and Mac.
Available in English, Italian, Spanish, German and Chinese.
Free software updates that never change your home’s data.
